The R&D team in Turkiye consists of 45+ people and for the journey ahead, we are building up a new team and  looking for an Assistant Manager to lead the Applications Team in Istanbul on-site.

About the role:

We are looking for an Assistant Manager Application Engineering (Team Lead) to manage an Applications team including assigning tasks, reviewing work, and driving best practise. You will be responsible for the personal and technical development of your team, whilst working with the Applications Manager to support the planning and execution of projects and resource allocation. You will act as the conduit between other design teams, PMO and relevant corporate engineering functions to support team objectives.

Qualifications

  • Typically 8 – 12 years experience in electronics in one of the following areas: wireless handheld, specifically audio and power management; consumer displays; automotive body electronics
  • Degree level qualification in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience with switching convertors
  • Experience with lab equipment
  • Experience in communication protocols (I2C, SPI or SPMI)
  • Software skills sufficient to enable measurement automation
  • Experience in multilayer, mixed-signal PCB design knowledge
  • Ability to supervise and mentor team members
  • Ability to select most appropriate methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for both maximizing results and solving technical issues
  • Ability to solve complex issues in creative, commercial and effective ways
  • Able to lead & co-ordinate significant projects, programs and business initiatives with creativity and ingenuity
  • Allocates resources, monitors work output, ensures delivery of targets of the team
  • Outward looking, positive role model with leadership skills
  • Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Results-oriented and able to deliver on-time under tight schedule pressure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of the design and/or evaluation of switching converters, controllers: Buck/Boost/Chargers. Linear regulators /chargers
  • Knowledge of portable power management
  • Understanding of IC design, production, test, silicon quality testing and failure analysis

Responsibilities

• Delegate project tasks appropriately, ensuring the entire team follows procedures and applications and evaluation practices that are required by internal methodology guidelines.
• Mentor direct reports, giving appropriate guidance and support, and reviewing technical and behavioural performance regularly.
• Support interview process, onboarding, off boarding, performance management and training for team.
• Proactively identify and drive improvements and additions to evaluation methods and capabilities.
• Perform physical silicon device evaluation at chip and board level. Draw conclusions from evaluation results and support necessary device, specification or test modifications.
• Take on product lead role. This includes planning evaluation, supporting collateral development, reporting to management and customers, and reviewing evaluation documents.
• Manage physical silicon device evaluation at chip and board level, including creation of all necessary evaluation collateral prior to receipt of silicon.
• Coordinate development of scripts in a Python environment to enable device measurement and automation for validation and production ATE support.
• Build strong links with the Design Engineering team to resolve any issues found during the bench verification and customer design-in phase.
• Lead interface with Test, Product and Quality teams as needed to support device issues and production ramp.
• Collaborate with global design teams, sharing best practice and ensuring alignment in methods where possible.
