To build up and grow the first Tech Hub in Istanbul,  we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer!

Your role

As a Senior Backend Engineer (f/m/d) in the FinTech team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the comprehensive invoice management and automation system. This system will handle creation for sales invoices and will process purchase invoices from their partners for shipments across all entities within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Drive automation efforts to eliminate the need for faxes, emails, and phone calls in logistics, enabling employees to focus on meaningful tasks instead of manual work.
  • Take an active role in a collaborative team environment, taking ownership of the entire software development cycle. This includes designing, building, and maintaining highly scalable and robust solutions. You will also continuously enhance existing systems, including critical component refactoring.
  • Explore and implement cutting-edge software design patterns to tackle the complex challenges we encounter within the ever-evolving domain of FinTech.
  • Engage in various challenges, such as leading engineering-wide initiatives, collaborating with different teams and stakeholders, and documenting concise Architectural Decision Records (ADRs).
  • Mentor and support fellow engineers in their growth, while also seeking out new challenges for personal and team development.

Qualifications

  • Mastery in most of the backend technologies we utilize, including NodeJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, NestJS, MongoDB, message queuing systems and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with GCP and/or AWS is advantageous.
  • A professional approach to software craftsmanship, with a deep understanding of various testing methodologies and the significance of Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Hands-on experience in developing distributed backend applications to address complex challenges such as data consistency, quality, latency, and availability.
  • Experience in front-end technologies is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
